PADI IDC Staff Instructor Course
– go further in your PADI career –
If you are already a PADI instructor looking to further your career and shape the next generation of PADI dive professionals, we are sure you will find our program both enjoyable and rewarding.
IDC Staff Instructors assist with instructor training and share their wisdom and experience with new PADI leaders. They can also independently teach the Assistant Instructor course. We also recommend the IDC Staff Instructor course to anyone planning to mentor Divemasters in training or manage a dive centre.
Check out our frequently asked questions below and contact us for more information.
You just need to have the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating to start the program. If you don’t have that rating yet contact us so that we can advise you on how to do that.
There are two parts to the IDC Staff Instructor Course. One part consists of a pre-assessment of expected knowledge and skills as well as training on IDC standards and evaluation techniques. You also take the five theory and the general standards and procedures exams to sharpen your knowledge.
The second part provides you with in-depth knowledge of the instructor development process through auditing (staffing) one of our IDCs using the revised curriculum. You will gain valuable hands-on teaching and evaluation experience and see an IDC from a totally different perspective.
Angel and Jo are both Platinum Course Directors and together have over 22 years’ experience of running IDCs and have a well- earned a reputation for giving high quality instructor development programs. They will guide you through the program sharing their tips and providing feedback to give you maximum value in taking your IDC Staff Instructor course.
Plus, we’ll give you the opportunity to return and audit a subsequent IDC with us without charge! This is a great opportunity if you are working towards your PADI Master Instructor rating.
Many of our previous IDC Staff Instructor candidates have gone on to become successful PADI Course Directors and dive shop owners.
