The PADI Freediver Course

The PADI Freediver Course is your first step toward discovering why freediving is becoming a popular way to explore beneath the waves.

The course covers the theory topics of physics and physiology to understand what happens to your body when you freedive.  You will discover and practice relaxation and breathing techniques, and will also learn important safety procedures and skills.  You will get to practice four disciplines of freediving – static, dynamic, free immersion and constant weight, as well as proper buddy procedures.  You will receive eLearning materials which covers everything you need to know.  Once you pay your deposit we will give you access to these eLearning materials.

To enroll in a PADI Freediver course you must be at least 12 years old.  You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required.

The price for this course is $7200.00 mxn.  The PADI Freediver course  includes one confined water session and two open water sessions in the cenotes.  

The price includes the eLearning materials, equipment, transportation from Playa del Carmen to the cenotes, and cenote entrance fees.  A deposit of $2000 mxn will secure your place and give you access to your eLearning materials.

The PADI Advanced Freediver Course

The PADI Advanced Freediver Course is for you if you have already mastered the fundamental knowledge and skills in your PADI Freediver course, and want to refine and improve your skills to allow you to progress and improve in a safe manner.

The course will build on the skills your previously learnt, and will cover depth adaptations, and technique refinement.  You will learn additional self-rescue skills as well as safety skills to enable you to buddy another freediver of the same level. You will receive eLearning materials which covers the theory.  

Your goals are:

Static apnea of 2 minutes, 30 seconds (2 minutes for freedivers younger than 18);

Dynamic apnea of 50 metres/165 feet (40 metres/130 feet for freedivers younger than 18);

Constant weight freedive of 20-24 meters/65-80 feet (15 metres/50 feet for freedivers younger than 18).

To enroll in a PADI Advanced Freediver course you need be at least 15 years old, have the PADI Freediver certification (or equivalent), and be medically fit to dive.  Its also recommended, but not mandatory, to have the EFR Primary & Secondary Care certification.

The price for the Advanced Freediver course is $8200.00 mxn.  The course includes one confined water session and two open water sessions in the cenotes.
