Meet Our Team
The Go Pro Family is PADI Platinum Course Directors Angel Navarro (from Spain) and Jo Armitage (from the UK), and their team of pros. Their job is to raise more successful PADI dive instructors by running IDCs around the world. Angel and Jo met in 2007 while in Utila, Honduras and have worked in the diving industry throughout Asia, the Americas and the Caribbean. Read on to find out a bit more about who are we and what is our philosophy.
Angel Navarro
Angel owned and ran his own successful adventure sports company in Spain before deciding to travel and make diving his career. He has been a PADI Course Director since 2007 and in that time has taught thousands of instructors and gained worldwide reputation and respect along the way. He has been awarded the prestigious Platinum status every year since 2007 – one of only a few Course Directors worldwide to have achieved this.
Angel speaks Spanish, English, French and Catalan fluently and is also PADI Tec Instructor, TDI Full Cave Instructor Trainer, as well as Instructor Trainer for Disabled Divers’ International.
Jo Armitage
In Jo’s “previous life” she worked as a lawyer in one the UK’s top law firms, and learned to dive in the chilly British waters. Many years ago she decided to hang up her suit for a few months and do some travelling at the same time as becoming a PADI Divemaster. But she loved the Go Pro life so much that she decided to make it her new career and completed her IDC in Honduras in 2007. Being an ex-lawyer she’s our risk management guru.
Jo has been a PADI Course Director since 2013 and is also a Freediver Instructor.
Mini Angel
He was born in 2009. His first word was “turtle” and he spends most of his time in the water or competing in triathlons. He is a regular spectator at the Instructor Exams and is a certified PADI Junior Advanced Open Water Diver and PADI Freediver.
Mini Jo
She was born in 2012. She is a budding mermaid, and healthy ocean ambassador. She is also Junior Open Water certified. She can often be spotted photo-bombing the group photos at the Instructor Exams.
Our Philosophy
The Go Pro Family was created in 2011 and before that we had spent many years working in the diving industry and developing training programs to suit our customers’ needs and the changing world of scuba diving. We are always evolving and adjusting the way we teach. Our aim is to always exceed people’s expectations and to never stop learning.
We are dedicated to giving our professional-level candidates the best start to their diving careers. We also support them on their journey after their training with us has come to an end. Our customers benefit from our team’s diverse background and strengths meaning we can nurture individual progression to get the best from their training.
Our belief is that we have a responsibility to educate others and encourage behavior which protects our planet’s health, and we seek to pass on that responsibility to all our students.
We value the importance of providing training and service of the highest standards to all our customers. We understand the magical, life changing effects that diving can have on all of us and our passion is to share that with as many people as we can.
